Meet Max
Max came into the shelter as a stray and the kennel environment is hard on him β he shuts down around noise and chaos. We've seen glimpses of a sweet, dog-friendly boy when things are quiet, but we can't fully understand him until he's out of the shelter. A calm foster home would let us learn who he really is, get better photos, and give him a real shot.
Best-fit home
Quiet home, ideally without a lot of foot traffic.
What they're like at home
No aggression observed. Shuts down rather than reacts under stress.
What they need
A calm foster home for decompression.
Why you'll love Max
When the noise drops away, Max leans in and asks for nothing but a quiet spot near you. He just needs a chance to exhale.
Honest about the challenges
Nervous in chaotic environments and needs decompression time. House training is unconfirmed.
For a foster
Patient adult home, dog-savvy preferred, willing to go slow.
Foster duration: 2β4 weeks minimum for decompression and assessment.
For an adopter
Someone calm who understands shepherd-type sensitivity.
Medical notes
Neutered, vaccinated. Otherwise healthy on intake exam.
